BoB-a-Q Smokehouse & Grill – Authentic Smoky BBQ & Brisket in Two Harbors, MN

Stopped here on the recommendation of folks who are up in Two Harbors a lot. We got a full rack of ribs, some sides and a quarter pound of brisket. The ribs fed three adults with some left over and the sides were more than enough for us. Needless to say I took home some finger lick’n left overs.

The food was good as well as the service. We like eating outside but was our first time in Two Harbors and it is a bustling, touristy town, so just know it is a little noisy. Very nice man taking our orders too. A bit pricey for what you get, $13 for a sandwich only. But hey were on vacation. $39 total for two sandwiches, a piece of corn bread and two shakes.

Great brisket sandwich. This is basically a roadside food stand in Two Harbors. Right in highway 61. Outdoor seating. The brisket was perfect, nice bark and juicy and tender. Small gravel parking lot.

Great stop on the way home from being up the shore! The pulled pork sandwich hit the spot and the malts were perfect. Bob himself was working the window, you can tell how much passion and love is put into the food. 10/10 recommend stopping!

Delicious and smoky bbq with quick and friendly service! I went with the bob-a-que bowl and also tried a few sides: Cole slaw, cornbread, and mac & cheese, all of it was delicious! Definitely worth checking out!

Bob-a-Q was terrific! Tried their BBQ Brisket sandwich and scarfed the whole thing down. So delicious and flavorful! Worth the stop!

If you’re in Duluth or even just passing through, drive just a few more miles to Two Harbors, this spot is absolutely worth the trip. I’ve eaten barbecue all over the country, from Texas and beyond, and I can honestly say this place ranks right up there with some of the best competition-level barbecue I’ve ever had. The brisket sandwich is simple and perfect soft, fresh bun, moist smoked brisket, and that unmistakable real smoke flavor that sets it apart. The potato salad is spot on, and everything else I ordered was just as impressive. The brisket bites/burnt ends, were outstanding, full of flavor and tenderness. And those jalapeño poppers? No exaggeration, they’re incredible. I’m genuinely happy to write this review because it’s such a win to have a place like this in the area. Duluth has a couple of barbecue joints, but this one takes the crown hands down.

Everything we tried was delicious! If you’re used to Twin Cities prices your wallet is in for a treat too. The meat is all smoked to perfection. The mac and cheese is appropriately cheesy and actually seasoned. They have a Brisket Bratwurst that is really the star. The beef and pork mix has a bit of heat that hits just right. Will definitely come back when we’re in town again. The regular sauce is a bit sweet so I mixed in the Spicy version and was very happy with how it turned out.
